Marc M. Meyer, R.N

Attorney

Marc M. Meyer, R.N., earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, in 1986.  Moving to Texas, he earned a Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University in 1989. While at Texas A&M, Mr. Meyer was involved with Texas A&M University EMS and became a paramedic. In 1990, Mr. Meyer joined the Houston Fire Department as a firefighter/paramedic.


He served with HFD for 21 years, retiring in 2021 as a Captain/EMS Supervisor. While with HFD, Mr. Meyer obtained an Associate’s degree in nursing from Regents College (now Excelsior College, New York), becoming licensed as a Registered Nurse in 1998. Mr. Meyer attended the South Texas College of Law, graduating in 2009, and was admitted to the Bar. While at South Texas, Mr. Meyer was the president of the Health Law Society and wrote on to the Law Review.


He opened his solo practice of law in 2009. Mr. Meyer has been involved in the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section since 2008, holding several leadership positions, including serving as liaison to the section council for the Law Student Division and the Young Lawyer Division. 


He is currently the immediate past president of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys and has served on the Board of that organization since 2016. Mr. Meyer has been Of Counsel to Edwards & Associates since 2022. He is Board Certified in Administrative Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
